Born October 23, 1954 - Taiwanese film director and producer. Twice winner of the Golden Bear at the Berlin Film Festival (1993, 1996), twice winner of the Golden Lion at the Venice Film Festival (2005, 2007). Winner of the Golden Globe (2001, 2006) and Oscar (2006) awards as the best director. Ang Lee's most high-profile projects are the drama Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon (2000), the gay melodrama Brokeback Mountain (2005) and the erotic thriller Lust (2007).
