Born October 7, 1935, Sydney - Australian writer, playwright, nonfiction writer. Best known for the novel Schindler's Ark, inspired by the life of Leopold Pfefferberg, a Holocaust survivor. The work won the Booker Prize in 1982. Based on the novel, Schindler's List was created, which won the Academy Award for Best Picture in 1993.
