Many plays and films have been staged based on Tom's works, in particular, two popular Soviet films - Look for a Woman (1982, based on the play Parrot and Chicken) and The Trap for a Lonely Man (1990, based on the play of the same name). The film "8 Women" (2002) was shot in France based on the play by Tom Francois Ozon. In Russia, the play was filmed in 2006 and 2016.
