Born March 15, 1969 - American television actress.
At the beginning of her career, Kim Raver starred in commercials. Her first major role was in the 1995 Broadway production of Holiday, in which she co-starred with Laura Linney. On television, she began her career in the prime-time soap opera New York, Central Park, followed by appearances on Law & Order, Practice and Spin City .
Raver is well known for her steady, regular television career since 1999, when she landed the lead role of Paramedic Kim Zambrano on The Third Shift. In the course of development, she appeared in the same role in the TV series Ambulance, in a crossover episode. In 2004, she left the show to try a couple of inconspicuous independent films, and in 2005 was cast as Audrey Raines, the new female lead, on the TV series 24 Hours. After two seasons in 24 Hours, Raver left the show to star in Nine, which was ultimately canceled despite good reviews from critics. In between, she starred in the television films of the women's cable channel Lifetime Sarah's Sixth Sense (2005) and Dinner of Silence (2010), and appeared on the big screen in the commercially successful comedy Night at the Museum, which was virtually the only notable appearance. Raver is out of television.
Raver starred in Jungle Lipstick in 2008-2009, which closed after two seasons. In the fall of 2009, she joined Grey's Anatomy as Dr. Teddy Altman, a heart surgeon based in Iraq. She left the show in the eighth season finale.
In the fall of 2012, Raver was invited to appear on several episodes of the television series Revolution, and then signed a contract to star in the Lifetime pilot The Secret Lives of Wives, which did not receive the green light for further production. Immediately after that, Raver was invited to play the lead role in the spin-off series NCIS: Los Angeles, but the project also remained at the pilot stage. In 2014, she starred in a limited-edition revival of 24 Hours. In early 2015, Raver landed the lead role in the ABC pilot The Advocate, playing a feminist business woman and attorney in medical proceedings.
