Born June 20, 1980 - American actress.
In 2005, Sumpter landed the role of Leila Williamson in the daytime soap One Life to Live. She was a regular actor until July 2010, and in January 2011, she briefly returned to the show as a guest star. She left the show after several offers for primetime and movie roles. Soon she appeared in the films How Much Have You? and "Think Like a Man", and also starred opposite Whitney Houston in the musical "Sparkle" .
On television, Sumpter had a minor role in Gossip Girl in 2011 and then in The Game. In 2013, she began playing the lead role of Candice Young in the Oprah Winfrey Network's prime-time soap opera The Have and Have-Nots.
