Born March 25, 1962 - American television actress.
She made her television debut in 1984 in the daytime soap opera At the Threshold of Night. She then moved from New York to Los Angeles, where she began acting in small roles in television films. In 1986, she joined the cast of the soap opera One Life to Live, which she starred in until 1987. In 1991, Cross broke into prime time with a small role in the series Quiet Wharf .
Cross brought fame to the role of the crazy Dr. Kimberly Shaw in the prime-time soap opera Melrose Place by Aaron Spelling. Initially, the producers of the series invited the actress only to participate in one episode, but later decided to include Cross in the main cast. After the character Cross was killed in the fifth season, her career began to decline and she mostly appeared in episodes of television series such as Seinfeld, Spin City, Ellie McBeal and CSI: Crime Scene Investigation. ... In 2003, she landed a supporting role in Everwood, which she starred in throughout the season. Cross has never acted in a movie, her first and only role on the big screen, apart from a couple of low-budget films, was in the independent thriller of 1990 "Bad Influence" .
In 2004, she won the role of Bree Van de Kamp on Desperate Housewives from numerous other actresses. The project became very successful both in the USA and in the world and became the largest in the career of an actress. In 2005, she received an Emmy nomination, but lost to Felicity Huffman, and was nominated for the Golden Globe three times, but each time she lost to her competitors. The show ended in May 2012 after eight seasons. Along with the end of the show, Cross decided to pause in her career, concentrating on raising children. In 2015, Cross returned to television, appearing in an episode of Law & Order: Special Victims Unit, and then took on a supporting role in Quantico.
