Born May 26, 1962 - American Television Actress.
Frances is best known for her role as Laura Spencer in the daytime soap opera General Hospital, in which she starred for three decades, starting in 1976. Francis is considered one of the most popular soap opera actors of the eighties thanks to her heroine's success with audiences. In 2007, she won the Daytime Emmy Award for Best Supporting Actress for her role in the soap opera General Hospital. She is also known for her roles in the soap operas Days of Our Lives (1987-1989), All My Children (1990-1992) and Young and Daring (2011-2012) .
Frances left and returned to General Hospital several times. In 1983, at the height of her popularity, she left the show for the first time to pursue a prime-time career and landed the lead role in the television series Nude Scent, which was canceled after one season. She then starred in three parts of the miniseries North and South, and was also a guest on the series The Hotel, Murder, She Wrote and Roseanne. Ultimately failing to make a stable career outside of daytime airtime, she returned to soap operas and starred in them for decades.
Since 1988 she has been married to actor Jonathan Frakes and they have two children.
