Boney M. is a disco group from Germany that was founded in 1975. It was produced by Frank Farian. Looking for a new style in disco, in 1974 he recorded an unexpected composition called Baby Do You Wanna Bump ?, which was based on the Jamaican melody of the artist and author Prince Buster called Al Capone.
In 1975, Farian presents his version of the sixties hit under the pseudonym Boney M (the name of a detective hero popular in America at that time, adding an M for better sound). His version of the composition is accompanied by the voice of Farian himself, which at Europa Sound Studios was divided into male and female vocal channels.
However, the song received an unexpected resounding success, and American listeners wanted not only to listen, but also to watch Boney M performing on television, where he was invited for concert filming. Maisie Williams, Mike, Sheila Bonnik and Natalie were recruited into the group. But the option was temporary. The final line-up was formed only in 1976. The band members are Caribbean expats: Marcia Barrett and Liz Mitchell (vocalists), Maisie Williams (dancer), Bobby Farrell (dancer and DJ). The quartet moved to the western regions of Europe as a teenager. They also received their education there.
Boney M 2015 is a group with a forty-year history of existence. For this event, Farian's record company has released an unprecedented edition under the DIAMONDS label. The release received the format of three types of FAN BOX, 3DVD box and 3CD box. The audio edition includes all the major hits, which are very convenient to listen to, because they are arranged in chronological order. The third disc features bonus tracks from mix masters and popular DJs. Fans will also have a surprise in the form of two new compositions by the group, recorded on the new disc. The first was recorded by Liz Mitchell and Farian himself, and the second was performed by hip-hop star Guyana and is dedicated to Frank Farian. The DVD compilation will also delight fans with a selection of the rarest videos with the band, recording of three live concerts and many exciting concerts.
