Born in Krakow on March 26, 1973. She is a graduate of the od Film School and also studied art history. Her debut short film, Silence, has won numerous international awards. Ascension, her second short film, was featured in the Cannes Film Fund program in 1999.
She is also the author and producer of several documentaries. At the age of 25, she directed her first feature film, Happy Man. He received a Special Prize at the Thessaloniki Film Festival and was nominated for a Director's Prize at the Sundance Festival. Variety has named her among the 10 best young European directors.
Her second feature film, The Stranger, was presented at the Sundance Festival and the Panorama program of the Berlin Film Festival.
In 2005, she started working with Zentropa studio as director and producer of one of the parts of the series "Visions of Europe" called "Crossroads" .
In 2008 her third feature film, 33 Scenes from Life, won the Silver Leopard Prize at the Locarno Film Festival. He was selected by the Polish Film Academy. Her fourth film, REVELATIONS, was presented at the Atelier of the Cannes IFF 2009.
Now she is preparing her new full-length art project called "The Assassination of the Priest Adam".
