Born May 20, 1965, Moresnet-Chapelle, Belgium - Belgian actor, film director and screenwriter.

Since childhood, Bouli was interested in painting, repeatedly visited and participated in exhibitions of paintings, so he also had an interest in cinema. As a teenager, he worked for Belgian television and occasionally appeared in episodic roles in the comedy series "Snuls", after which Bouli began his acting career in Belgium and France.

Buli Lanners got his first serious film role when he played in the movie Toto the Hero, which was released in 1991. The best films with the participation of Buli Lanners "The Long Engagement" (2004), where the actor played a French prisoner of war during the First World War, "I Always Wanted to Be a Gangster" (2007), "Customs Gives the Good" (2010) "Rust and Bone" 2012. His first feature film, Ultraranova (2005), won the CICAE Prize at the Panorama program of the 55th Berlin Film Festival. His next work, Eldorado, made the author even more popular when it won three awards at the Cannes Film Festival, including the FIPRESCI Prize, and in 2009 the film was nominated for the French Cesar Film Award for Best Foreign Film of the Year. Directorial work of Buli Lanners 2011 film "Giants", won two prizes at the 64th Cannes Film Festival and two awards from the Belgian National Film Awards Magritte for Best Film and Best Director.

In 2016 Lanners' tape "The First, Last" was released, which was selected to participate in the Panorama program of the 68th Berlin International Film Festival.
