Born June 8, 1960 in La Crescenta, California is an American film director, screenwriter, and actor.

In high school, he had a desire to become an architect. However, this impulse was nipped in the bud by a meeting with a representative of the CalArts school. After three years of training, Truesdale graduated as an animator. In 1982, he signed a one-year contract with CarterlMendez Productions, where he was involved in storyboarding and designing various television projects.

Truesdale joined Disney Studios as Assistant Supervisor for Special Effects. His first project was the 1985 film Black Cauldron, then he worked as an assistant animator on additional special effects on the fantastic comedy My Science Project. Then he was transferred to the full-length projects development department. In this department, he had a chance to work on the films Oliver and Company, The Little Mermaid and Rescuers in Australia. In addition, he has worked in Disney's writing department on Aladin, as well as the short films The Prince and the Beggar, Oilspot and Lipstick, Goofy of the Apes and Mickey's Halloween.

Lately Truesdale worked at DreamWorks Animation. Among many other projects, he paid much attention to the Shrek and Madagascar franchises.
