Born December 15, 1956, Longview, Texas is an American film director, screenwriter, and producer.
In 2002, he directed the sports drama "Newbie", which was both critically and commercially successful. In 2004, he was the screenwriter and director of Fort Alamo, which failed at the box office. Five years later, he directed The Blind Side, which was incredibly successful and received an Oscar nomination for Best Picture. He co-wrote the upcoming Gorey Girls musical and he also reunited with Disney in Saving Mr. Banks, a film about the life of P. L. Travers and her difficult negotiations with Walt Disney over an adaptation of her famous novel Mary Poppins. into a feature film.
