An internationally renowned British band composed of Sade Adu, Stuart Matthewman, Paul Spencer Denman and Andrew Hale. The group bears the name of the group's only vocalist, Shade Adu, and is often associated only with her. The band's music is eclectic, combining elements of soul, jazz, rhythm and blues, funk and soft rock. The group debuted in 1984 and enjoyed great commercial success in the 1980s, 1990s and 2000s around the world.
