Born on November 12, 1888 in the village of Myshelovka, Kiev province, Russian Empire. He graduated from the acting department of the Theater School of the Kiev Society of Art and Literature (1918). In 1919-1925 he was an actor in the theaters of Saratov, Batumi, Kiev. In 1924-1925 he was a teacher at the Odessa State Technical School of Cinematography. In 1925-1929 - director of the Odessa film studio, in 1929-1940 - director of the Kiev film studio, in 1940-1945 - director of the Tekhfilm film studio (Kiev, Tashkent). In 1947-1955 - Director of the Kiev Museum of Theatrical Art. He passed away on September 15, 1955 in Kiev.
