Born (10) on March 22, 1895 in the village of Shumyachi, Mogilev province (now an urban-type settlement of the Smolensk region).
In 1917 he graduated from the Petrograd Psychoneurological Institute.
Since 1918 - a literary employee and editor of a number of Kiev newspapers and an instructor of the Political Administration of the Red Army.
Since 1920 - the chairman of the Kiev Regional Photo-Film Committee, in 1922 - the first director and director (1925-1927) of the Yalta Film Factory of the VUFKU, in 1923-1924 - the director of the Odessa Film Factory.
In 1924-1925 - director of the board of VUFUKU in Kharkov and organizer and editor-director of the newsreels "Flywheel" and "Kinonedelya" (Kharkov).
In 1928-1941 he was a director of the Odessa Film Studio.
In 1941-1943 - director of the Tashkent Film Studio.
In 1944-1956 - director of the Ukrainian studio of newsreel-documentary films (Kiev), executive editor of the film magazine "Radianska Ukraine" .
He passed away on May 6, 1956 in Kiev.
