An English band that had a huge impact on the development of heavy music at one time, was organized by Ian Fraser Kilmister (Lemmy) in the summer of 1975, when he was kicked out of Hawkwind due to legal problems. Together with Larry Wallis (guitarist) and Lucas Fox (drummer), he came up with the name of the band Bastard, but on the advice of managers decided to rename it Motorhead. Soon, Fox was replaced by Phil Taylor, Eddie Clarke became guitarist, and Wallis left. The debut disc was released in 1977 with the same name and immediately took 43 place in the British charts, but critics did not accept the work too flatteringly. Their first real success hit them in 1980 with the release of their next album, Ace of Spades. The disc went gold, and the title track was in the top five of Britain's TOP lists for a long time. On April 25, 2005, a documentary film was released with Motorhead: Classic albums - Ace of spades to commemorate the brilliant work.

In the spring of 1982, the Iron Fist compilation again made its contribution to the popular charts, but, despite the growing popularity, Eddie separated from the team, replaced by Brian Robertson for a short time, and very soon he was replaced by Michael Burston and Phil Campbell. For some time, the group had disagreements with the recording studio, on the basis of this, Phil Taylor quit, and only in 1986 with the new drummer, Pete Gill, fans could hear the long-awaited Orgasmatron disc. It turned out to be so powerful that everyone forgot about the troubles. In 1987, the first feature film was released with Motorhead, to which they recorded the soundtrack Eat the Rich, and Lemmy starred as Spider. 1991 brought the team a new takeoff with the release of the 1916 disc. He was nominated for a Grammy, but then the legendary Metallica took the main prize.

In the following years the band toured extensively, released new successful compilations, one of which - Bastards (1993) - the most successful disc of that period, and finally received its well-deserved Grammy award in 2005 for Best Metal Performance. Despite the long time spent on stage, Motorhead have not lost their creative fervor, their songs are still relevant, and many performers consider it an honor to perform with the group at the same concert. The fact that they are still popular is evidenced by the latest albums The World Is Ours (2010), the title track of which took first place on the Amazon hit list, and Aftershock (2013), performed in the usual corporate style. At the moment, in addition to the permanent leader Kilmister, the team includes guitarist Phil Campbell and drummer Mikhail Kyriakos Delaoglu.
