In 2002 the former group Rage, consisting of members of rock bands of the 90s, signed a contract with new managers and from that time became known as Audioslave, which literally sounds like a "slave to sound". Then the "slaves" of music became: Chris Cornell (vocals), Tim Commerford (bass guitar, backing vocals), Tom Morello (rhythm guitar), Brad Wilk (drums). The countdown date can be considered November 26, 2002, when the collective for the first time publicly performed their compositions in New York. The first self-titled album was released in November this year with the title track Cochise. It was sold in a multi-million edition, which is not surprising, because the participants had a rich experience in the world of heavy music behind them. The whole of 2003 went on tour, and critics everywhere recognized that the live performance of the band has a certain magic.

2004 passed unnoticed for the fans of the new team, only at the end of the year the group gathered together in order to start working on the second disc. To popularize the new album, the guys went on a mini-tour, and in May 2005 the Out of Exile disc was released. He just burst into the American charts, and the songs Be Yourself, Doesn't Remind Me, Your Time Has Come did not leave the top of the top lists for weeks. In the same month, the band took part in a charity concert in Cuba. The action was so energetically powerful that the organizers decided to release a film with Audioslave, where the entire performance was recorded on DVD and launched in October 2005.

In September 2006, the guys created their third album, Revelations, some of the songs from which were politically charged and opposed Bush's policies. The collection was full of new directions and experiments, but, nevertheless, it was harmonious and clearly expressed in the style of alternative rock. Some of the singles from this disc were included by Michael Mann in the picture of Miami Vice. The tour in support of the new work did not work because of the solo projects of Cornell and Morello, and in February 2007 Chris announced his departure from the band due to accumulated disagreements. So you won't be able to watch Audioslave at concerts in full force. The remaining trio did not officially announce their breakup, but so far no new works have followed from them.
