Lev Potemkin began as a dramatic actor, worked in Moscow theaters, and in 1950 he appeared on the stage of the Operetta Theater under the direction of Grigory Yaron. There his brilliant gift as a musical actor, improviser and plastic was manifested. On this stage, Potemkin created a number of comedic and character images. Among them are Vittorio Rosetti (The Circus Lights the Lights), Amedey (The Bat), Paul I (The Suvorochka), Colonel (Mademoiselle Nitouche), Archibald (The Ball at the Savoy), Baron de Chatoner ( Circus Princess "), Gorbenko (" Moscow-Cheryomushki "), Baron Zetta (" The Merry Widow "). In addition, the actor led an active social life, was the chairman of the local committee, and organized sponsored concerts. For the last two years he was seriously ill and lived in the Yablochkina House of Stage Veterans. But even there the actor remained an active social activist, organizing creative evenings with the participation of his former colleagues in the Operetta Theater. Graduated from the Maly Theater Studio. In 1922-1939 he was an actor in the Rossov Classical Theater, in 1939-1945 - in the State New Theater (Moscow Drama Theater). 1945-1950 - at the Film Actor's Studio Theater. In 1950-1964 he was an actor at the Moscow Operetta Theater.
