Born October 27 (November 8) 1889 in Krasnodar.
Armenian Soviet screenwriter.
She studied at pedagogical courses at the Faculty of History and Philology.
In 1911-1916 she was repeatedly arrested and exiled for underground revolutionary activities.
In exile in Veliky Ustyug, she worked as a pianist in a cinema (1911-1913).
In 1918-1919 she was in clandestine party work in the rear of the White Army, since 1920 - secretary of the Belarusian Military Revolutionary Committee.
In 1921-1938 she worked in the Soviet embassies in Prague and Riga.
She began working in the cinema in 1924. For many years she was a consultant screenwriter, editor and head of the script department at the Mezhrabpomfilm film studio, and then at the Soyuzdetfilm film studio. In connection with the 20th anniversary of the first Russian revolution, the jubilee commission of the All-Russian Central Executive Committee approved Agadzhanova's script "1905". In this scenario, the uprising on the battleship Potemkin was one of the episodes in the film. At the suggestion of Agadzhanova, S. Eisenstein was involved in the production of the film "1905". In the process of work, the episode about Potemkin grew into an independent script, according to which in 1925 Eisenstein directed the film The Battleship Potemkin.
She took part in the making of the film Two-Buldi-Two (1930) as a director (together with L. Kuleshov).
In 1945-1952 she was engaged in pedagogical work (since 1949 associate professor), taught screenwriting at VGIK.
She died on December 14, 1974.
