Vladimir Sergeevich Volodin. The real name is Ivanov. A brilliant comedian, a star of the Soviet operetta. He became famous in the cinema in the comedies of Grigory Alexandrov "Circus" and "Volga-Volga". One of the founders of the Moscow Operetta Theater. At the age of 14, Volodya Ivanov came to the circus to hire a carpet, but they took him there for matinees, for children. Adults did not dare show his jokes like "gorbatsutser, puzer, bamar". When 30 years later Vladimir Sergeevich told Aleksandrov about this, he said: "I guarantee you a promotion - you will become the director of the circus with me! But with one condition: you will not utter your saying about" gorbatsutser "under any circumstances."
Vladimir came to the theater as a prop. Every evening he stood in the wings and looked at the artists with all his eyes. There he was noticed by the famous Ivan Peltzer, who decided to listen to the young man. So began the career of the future favorite of the public, Vladimir Volodin. A year later Ivan Peltzer said to his student: "Why waste time and money! You have nothing to learn!" He organized Volodin's first performance on the stage. Soon the actor appeared in the troupe of the Bat cabaret theater, and in 1927 Volodin became one of the founders of the Moscow Operetta Theater. He played in the first Soviet operetta "Grooms" by I. Dunaevsky, which was invented by Volodin's friend and colleague Sergei Antimonov. Volodin was incredibly musical. Far from being strong, his voice was husky and had tremendous charm. The artist freely overcame the border of convention - the transition from conversation to music. His rich imagination as a comedian constantly found new colors for any role, even for an ordinary appearance on stage - he could not help but amaze. He never played villains. Scoundrels and scoundrels did not work for him. His heroes have always remained kind, albeit sometimes unlucky people. Volodin's participation in the films "The Light Path", "The First Glove", "Kuban Cossacks", "Precious Gift" became a real gift for the audience. Vladimir Volodin left the stage only when he already began to lose his hearing and memory. He came to the performance with his last strength, played near the wings in order to better hear the prompter. But when he realized that memory lapses began to acquire a frightening scale, he decisively broke with the stage. At the last performance, when the curtain closed, Volodin burst into tears, burying himself in the wings.
People's Artist of the RSFSR (1947). Laureate of the USSR State Prize (1951 - for his participation in the film "Kuban Cossacks"). He played in the theaters Zona, "Hermitage", "Alkazor", as well as in theaters in Ukraine and the Far East. Since 1927 - an actor of the Moscow Operetta Theater.
