Was born on May 26, 1957 in Leningrad.
In 1979 he graduated from the Leningrad Institute of Culture, tried to enter VGIK, but failed.
He served in the ranks of the Soviet Army in the Far East. After demobilization, he worked as the head of the people's amateur film studio.
In 1986 he graduated from the screenwriting department of the All-Union Committee of the Soviet Union (workshop of V. Solovyov, E. Barabash).
He worked with such directors as Yuri Mamin, Igor Maslennikov, Dmitry Svetozarov, Tonino Guerra and others. Lyrics for many films.
He passed away on December 28, 2010 in St. Petersburg from a stroke. The funeral took place on January 3, 2011 at the cemetery in the village of Komarovo.
