Born on 1 August 1939, just before the start of the war. The boy's childhood was difficult, although his family was large. When men from three families were taken to the front, the relatives united and helped each other as much as they could. But Yuri Dubrovin warmly recalls those times. He says that then human qualities were more appreciated. And the song - so that in general was on everyone's lips. Therefore, the guy from an early age participated in various matinees and performances of an amateur circle.
That is why I didn’t think about my profession for a long time. After school, the young man moved to Moscow and on the first attempt went to VGIK. The talent was evident. While still a student, Dubrovin began acting in films. At first in short films, but this was a good start - Dubrovin was noticed, his name appeared in several print media.
True, in Russia, talent was still invaluable. Mosfilm did not hire Dubrovin. Nevertheless, the actor was warmly welcomed by the Dovzhenko Kiev Film Studio, where he worked for a total of about forty years. Yuri Dubrovin rarely got the main roles, but, being in the background, the artist was able to impress the viewer. The period of career heyday fell on the seventies - eighties. The best films were recognized: In war as in war; Liberation: Arc of Fire; Liberation: Breakthrough; Dauria; Checking on the roads; Horsemen; As the Steel Was Tempered; Widows; Biryuk; D'Artagnan and the Three Musketeers; Keep your eyes peeled !; In love of his own accord; The battalions are asking for fire; Pilgrim Captain; Prisoner of the Castle of If; Criminal talent; Leashed by the runway ... The collapse of the Union, of course, had a sad effect on Yuri's career - the work significantly diminished. But, nevertheless, the actor continues to look for interesting characters. And he succeeds. For the performance of collective farmer Safronov in the film Outskirts of Dubrovin, he was awarded the prize of the International Film Actors Festival.
In the late nineties, the artist returned to his homeland - to Russia. There Yuri will play several more very successful, high-profile roles. But the years take their toll and in 2006, while working on the melodrama Barin, he suffered two strokes. Actually, this was the last film with Yuri Dubrovin presented to the public. The premiere took place, but the actor was forced to leave the world of cinema. He is no longer filmed.
