Born on September 30, 1917. Since childhood, Yuri Lyubimov remembers only the repression of his father and hard times. He never finished school. In 1934, the young man entered the Moscow Art Theater studio. A year later, he was already playing on stage. Some time later he transferred to the Shchukin Theater.
In 1941, Lyubimov was taken to the front. There, the character was tempered, like steel, which in the future helped Yuri to survive difficult situations with dignity. Even before the service, the actor began his career on television. He appeared in an inconspicuous role in the film Colored Cinema Novels.
After the army, the actor works in the Vakhtangov Theater, but he does not refuse roles in films either. Since 1946, films with Yuri Lyubimov began to appear regularly on screens:
The most fruitful work in cinematography fell on the fifties of the last century: a dozen more films were added to the actor's filmography. With the beginning of the sixties, Lyubimov devoted almost all his time to the Taganka Theater. By the way, he abandoned the movie. The last film with Yuri Lyubimov was shown in 1973. It was the film Just a few words in honor of M. de Moliere.
In 1984, based on the political position of Lyubimov, inappropriate for the authorities, he was deprived of Soviet citizenship. But who's unlucky here still has to argue. The actor finally stopped being tied to a single place of work and began to give his talent to viewers in many countries of the world. The journey ended in 1988, at a train station in Moscow. The maestro is back. A year later, his citizenship was returned and he was allowed to take up work in the theater again.
With the beginning of the new millennium, Yuri Lyubimov continues to stage performances. He will work in the theater until 2011 and will be forced to leave his native walls due to a conflict with the cast.
In 2012, the actor had a heart attack. That time he was saved. But already in 2014, Lyubimov felt bad again. On October 2, due to a diagnosis incompatible with life, a talented and unique artist left this world. The actor was buried at the Donskoy cemetery.
