Vladimir Kostin - biography, date of birth, place of birth, filmography, clips.
Born on January 13, 1939 in Kronstadt. His father was a bayan musician of the Red Banner Baltic Fleet ensemble, and his mother was a housewife. During the Great Patriotic War, the Kostins remained in Leningrad, fully surviving the entire blockade. At the very end of the war, Volodya was taken to her by his grandmother and was engaged in his further education (his parents parted at that time). While studying at school, Volodya became interested in theater and began to visit the Theater of Young Creativity, famous in Leningrad in the 1950s, participated in its productions, playing the main roles. There he was noticed by director Jan Fried, inviting him to the role of Vadim Shmelev in the film "The Road of Truth". Kostin played the son of the main character played by Tamara Fedorovna Makarova, who advised the young actor to go to VGIK, which he had no idea about then. Vladimir Kostin had a very beautiful appearance, so it is not surprising that after the premiere of the film, he woke up famous. Crowds of girls annoyed him with their attention, he could not walk down the street unrecognized, which made him very upset. He received hundreds of letters from fans, among which was, for example, the famous gymnast Larisa Latynina.
After graduating from the tenth year, Vladimir entered the acting department of VGIK, in the workshop of Grigory Kozintsev. Grigory Mikhailovich was a very strict master, under the threat of expulsion, he categorically forbade his students to act. Vladimir Kostin, having received an invitation from Vasily Ordynsky to play one of the central roles in the film "Peers", was filmed secretly during the holidays. Then, in the same way, he starred in the title role of Ivan Lukinsky in the film "Leap at Dawn". When the pictures appeared on the screen, the threat of exclusion hung over him. Kostin was saved by a family tragedy - his mother passed away. Kozintsev took pity on his student, and he continued his studies. "Leap at Dawn", moreover, was credited to Kostin as his graduation work.
Unfortunately, Vladimir Kostin no longer had such significant works as "Peers" and "Leap at Dawn". Due to the ban, the master had to abandon the role of Nikolai Rostov in War and Peace, which could have opened the way for the actor to other interesting works. After graduating from VGIK in 1962, Vladimir Kostin was admitted to the staff of the Lenfilm film studio, where, however, he was not destined to play a single interesting role. The actor's most notable work has been done in films from other studios. Basically, these were characters of a heroic and characteristic plan: Utkin - "Stanko" ("Comrade Arseny"), Frolov ("Exploded Hell"), Dykhodymov ("Fidgets"), Bashmakov ("Attention, Tsunami!"), Nightingale ( "Marine character"). Vladimir Kostin has also worked a lot and successfully on dubbing films.
The actor's first marriage was unsuccessful. After living together for five years and having given birth to a son, the couple separated. Kostin met his second wife on the set of the film "Snow Maiden", where she starred in a small episode. On August 15, 1969, Vladimir and Valentina got married and lived happily for 6 years, until the tragic departure of Vladimir Kostin from life. Leningrad, February 1, 1975. In the evening Vladimir Vasilyevich, returning from a friend, was driving home by taxi. On the way, a drunk man in civilian clothes, who turned out to be a policeman, got into the car. The taxi driver demanded from him double the fare, after which the enraged policeman took both the taxi driver and his passenger to the police station. Vladimir Kostin became indignant, explaining that he was an actor and was in a hurry home. For some reason, these arguments angered the "law enforcement officers". Kostin was beaten to death, his body was already taken out of the department. The actor was buried at the Krasnoselsky cemetery in Leningrad. Valentina Fedorovna Kostina was pregnant at that moment. Vladimir Vasilyevich was looking forward to his daughter, but he was never destined to see her. Dasha was born on March 15, 1975, a month and a half after the death of her father. A high-profile trial followed, as a result of which, for the first time in Soviet judicial practice, three police officers were convicted and imprisoned at once. The public prosecutor at the trial was the famous director Tamara Arkadyevna Rodionova. The lawyer, frightened of the consequences, refused to conduct the case, so the wife of the actor herself had to say the final word. All her speech was recorded by journalist Maximov and published in the French magazine "Continent", as a result of which Valentina Fyodorovna was "under a hood" and could not find a job for a long time. Later, Valentina Fyodorovna Kostina graduated from the acting and theater faculties of LGITMiK, worked as a guide in a museum, now she is filming in serials in small roles and episodes. Daughter Daria works as a flight attendant.
