Bruce Joel Rubin is the best known screenwriter for the supernatural romance film Ghost, for which he won the 1991 Academy Award for Best Original Screenplay.
Bruce Rubin has also written the screenplay for films such as Jacob's Ladder, Abyss Impact, Brainstorming, Mortal Friend (based on Diana Henstall's novel Friend), My Life (in which he also directed), Stuart Little 2, The Last Mimzy of the Universe and The Time Traveler's Wife.
Bruce Rubin is married. He has two sons - Joshua and Ari - both screenwriters.
