Tony Jaa (Thatchakorn Yeerum / Thatchakorn Yeerum) was born on February 5, 1976 in the city of Si-Saket (Isaan province, about 450 km from Bangkok, Thailand). He was born the third of four children (he has a brother Tavisak and two sisters - Vayevsiri and Hattaya), born to a family of farmers and elephant trainers.
Even as a child, Tony grew up with elephants. Every day, playing, he climbed onto the backs of Tsvetka and Liszt, two elephants that remained in his family from grandparents.
