Born July 14, 1952, New Orleans, Louisiana, USA - American film director, actor, producer and screenwriter.
He began his acting career while attending Audubon High School in Crenshaw, Los Angeles. He often played minor characters who were younger than his age. He has appeared in several musicals in Audubon directed by drama teacher Mario Lomeli, including Bye Bye Birdie, Annie Get Your Gun and Oklahoma! While attending theater classes at Susan Miller Dorsey High School, he began acting professionally, playing the troubled teenager in the award-winning TV series Room 222, and opposite Chuck Norris in The Power of a Solitary. He also appeared in three episodes of Sanford and Son as Esther's adopted son. In 1982, he landed the role of Luther Hawkins on the television series St Elswehr. He remained on the series until its graduation in 1988.
Laneuville's first directing assignments were for episodes of St Elswehr.
In 1992, he won an Emmy Award for directing the episode "All God's Children" of the NBC TV series I'll Fly. He also directed the 2004 television movie Prince of America. In 2010, he directed the TV movie Client List.
As his directing career has soared, Laneuville's acting career has only lasted from time to time, usually in small cameo roles. His most recent appearance in front of the camera was on October 3, 2014, as a guest role on Blue Blood, in an episode he also directed. Prior to that, he appeared as Dr. Lamar in the television series The Clinic. He also appeared in The Fear of the Black Hat (1994), a mock film that parodies the hip-hop culture of the 1990s.
