Born November 9, 1972 - American actor.
Graduated from high school in San Mateo, California. I went in for sports at school, but decided to take part in the school play "All My Sons", based on the novel by Arthur Miller.
In 1993, Dane moved to Los Angeles, where he played small roles in the television series Save Bell, The Wonderful Years, Roseanne, and Married ... with Children. In 2000 he appeared in the episode "Charmed". Dane's first major work was The Basket. He also appeared in the films Zoe, Duncan, Jack and Jane, Holiday, Drift, and X-Men: The Last Stand .
In 2005, Dane was cast as Dr. Mark Sloane in the television series Grey's Anatomy. The positive reaction from the audience allowed Dane's character to become a permanent character. The scene in which Sloane comes out of the bathroom wet with one towel has been dubbed "The Best Moment" .
In December 2006, Dane starred in the television movie Wedding Wars as a gay brother walking to a gay marriage rally.
In 2010 he appeared, alongside Patrick Dempsey, in the romantic comedy Valentine's Day. Dane represented the Creative Artists Agency for the entertainment agency Meryl Streep, Natalie Portman and Reese Witherspoon.
