November 14, 1904 - January 2, 1963 - American actor, producer, film director and singer. His popularity peaked in the 1930s, when he was one of the brightest and most sought-after stars of American film musicals. In the 1940s, his range of roles expanded and genres such as noir (Murder, My Darling (1944), Trap (1948)), thriller (Cornered (1945), High Purpose "(1951)) and comedy (" The Reformer and the Red Head "(1950)). His wife, actresses Joan Blondell (1936-1944) and June Allison (1945-1963), periodically appeared on the movie screens with him.
