July 15, 1889 - July 6, 1970 - American actress, two-time Academy Award nominee (1941 and 1954) .
She began her career at the age of twelve on the theater stage. In her youth, she was one of the leading Broadway actresses, but her film career in silent films, which began in 1917, was not very successful. Success in cinema came to her at the age of fifty already with sound films. In 1941, Marjorie Rambue was nominated for an Oscar for Best Supporting Actress in The Way of Pleasure. Her second nomination for this award was in 1954 for her role as Mrs. Stewart in Sad Song. Also became famous for her role in the film "Man with a Thousand Faces" (1957) .
The actress was married three times. In 1913, she married Canadian screenwriter, actor and director Willard Mack, whom she divorced in 1917. Her second husband was also actor Hugh Dillman. They divorced in 1923. For the third time, she married Francis Gadger, with whom she remained together until his death in 1967. Marjorie Ramboe died in Palm Springs, California in 1970 at the age of 80. For her contribution to cinema, the actress was awarded a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
