In 1970, he graduated from one of the oldest schools in his hometown - the Teleki Blanka Gimnazium. After he studied at the Faculty of Economics at the University of Corvinus (Budapesti Corvinus Egyetem) in the capital of Hungary. Graduating from university in 1977, Morchani worked for almost ten years as a playwright in theaters in Budapest, including the Miklos Radnoti Theater, and in rural theaters (the national theaters of Peca and Gyor, the chamber theater in Szolnok).
From 1988 to 1989 Morchani was editor of the monthly Hungarian educational magazine Interpress Magazine, until 1995 he was a member of IPC Publishing. For twenty years, until 2015, he served as director of the publishing company Magveto. Then he headed the publishing group Lira Konyv Zrt.
In 2017, Geza made his debut on the big screen - he played the main role in the drama film "On Body and Soul" directed by Ildiko Enyedi, where he appeared in the form of Endre, the head of a secluded slaughterhouse in Budapest. In the film, which won four awards at the Berlin Film Festival, including the Golden Bear and the FIPRESCI prizes, the ecumenical (Christian) jury and the Berliner Morgenpost newspaper, Geza starred with Alexandra Borbei, Tenki River, Tamas Jordan, Pale Machai, Julia Nyako and others .
