Born November 18, 1981, Virgin Islands, USA is an American actress and dancer.
Moved with her family to Orlando, Florida at the age of seven, five of whom studied dance at the US Virgin Islands School. In 1989, the actress was invited to participate in a Christmas show for Disney's Magic Kingdom. Due to the fact that Universal Studios was located nearby, the girl was noticed and invited to participate in various Nickelodeon shows: "My Brother and Me", "Keenan and Cal" and "All This".
Graduated from Dr. Phillips High School, where she studied performing and singing arts. She earned her Master of Music degree from Florida State University in 2003, receiving an invitation to their music program. In the summer she worked at the Heritage Repertory Theater in Virginia, where she starred in Smokey Joe's Cafe and Anything Goes, as well as on the Nickelodeon TV series Noah Knows Best. She also took part in the production of Renta (as Mimi Marquez), Chicago (as Liz) and Cabaret (as Frenchy).
After graduation, she won the role of Sarah in the musical Ragtime at the Merry-Go-Round Theater in New York. For the next two years, Mekia toured the country with the role of Carmen in the musical "Glory", and also returned to the role of Brenda on the show "Smokey Joe's Cafe". Then she moved to Los Angeles, where she lives to this day. Likes to draw and learns to play the guitar.
Cox was one of two girls to win the right to participate in the Michael Jackson: That's All Dance Tour, beating 500 applicants. Also appeared in the documentary of the same name.
The actress has a lot of experience in television - she has starred on programs at Universal Studios and Nickelodeon.
