Alvaro Orlando was born in Miami to immigrants from Cuba and Colombia. He started boxing at school, later he performed in the professional ring several times. In parallel with this, he was engaged in break dance and played in the school theater.
After graduating from high school, he worked for several years in Spanish-language television in Florida. He performed in a stand-up show in Miami, then moved to New York, where he studied acting.
The actor's sporting background came in handy for Kenneth Castillo's Counterstrike, where he starred with such stars as Danny Trejo, Stephen Bauer and Ivon Call.
