Born 1975 - New Zealand television actress. In the 1990s, she began her career starring in syndicated television shows, including Hercules and the Amazons, Hercules in the Underworld, Hercules and the Circle of Fire and The Amazing Journeys of Hercules, and Xena, Warrior Princess. In the early 2000s, she moved to Australia, where, in between her television work, she married director Gregor Jordan.
In the second half of the 2000s, Kessell moved to the United States, where she appeared in the episodes CSI: Miami Crime Scene, Criminal Minds and Brink. She also had small roles in the films Frost vs. Nixon, The Informants and Out of Time. In 2011, she had a regular role on the Fox series Terra Nova, which was canceled after one season. This led her to regular roles in the Australian TV series Fat Tony & Co. and Wonderland. In 2015, she returned to regular work in the United States, landing the lead female lead on ABC's Kings and Prophets.
