Born June 16, 1953 - American character actress and film producer.
In 1975 she graduated with a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Texas at Austin, after which she began her acting career. In 1976 she made her Broadway debut in the musical Rex .
From 1979 to 1981, Valerie Mahaffei starred in the daytime soap Doctors, which earned her her first Emmy nomination in 1980. After retiring from the soap opera, Mahaffey began to build her career as a comedic actress, playing in sitcoms, as well as sometimes in dramatic projects. On television, she had a leading role in the sitcom Power Have, which was canceled after two seasons in 1993.
