Born May 13, 1964, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania is an American actor, director, producer, and screenwriter.
He began his career in the soap opera All My Children, after which he appeared in several dozen television shows and films as an actor. As an actor, Verica is best known for his role on the NBC series American Dreams opposite Gail O'Grady from 2002 to 2005. He also starred in the short-lived TV series New York, Central Park, The Naked Truth and Nine.
In the mid-2000s, Verika embarked on a career as a television director, most successfully working on Shonda Rhimes's Grey's Anatomy, Private Practice and Scandal, the latter of which he also took on the position of co-executive producer. This collaboration eventually led him to get the role of the protagonist's husband on Rhimes' How to Get Away with Murder in 2014.
