Uggs became the first dog to receive the "Golden Collar", an analogue of the "Oscar" .
At the 2011 Cannes Film Festival he was awarded the special PALM DOG Award for the film "Artist", which is annually presented at the festival for the best role in the performance of a dog.
His memoir Uggs, My Story was published in the United States, Great Britain and France in October 2012.
His owner, Omar von Muller, made the difficult decision to put the dog to sleep after an unsuccessful fight against a prostate tumor.
