Larry Pearce - biography, date of birth, place of birth, filmography, clips, Director, Producer.

Born April 19, 1930, Bronx, New York - American film director and producer.

Graduated from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.

His debut film was the 1964 black and white film One Potato, Two Potatoes, which was a great success, and in the same year was awarded at the Cannes Film Festival. The film told about the painful topic of interracial marriage in the United States at that time. The picture itself did not receive any prizes or awards, but actress Barbara Barry won the Best Actress award for her performance as Julia Cullen Richards.

Pearce was predicted a great future in cinema. He actively made films in the 60s, in particular, he directed several episodes of the Western "Branded" and the TV series "Batman". In 1969, Larry Pearce directed Farewell Columbus based on the works of Philip Roth. For his directing, Larry Pearce was nominated for the prestigious Filmmakers Guild of America Award for Excellence in Cinematography.

After several unsuccessful jobs, Pierce concentrated on working on miniseries. In particular, Pierce directed several episodes of the 1975 series True Ghostbusters, Queenie, A Woman Called Jackie, and a biopic about Jacqueline Kennedy.
