Born June 25, 1948, Brooklyn, New York is an American film director, actor, and producer.
Graduated from Beverly Hills High School in 1966, his classmates included Rob Rainer, Albert Brooks and Richard Dreyfuss.
He then went on to study acting at Los Angeles City College and California State University. He additionally took singing and dance lessons, and performed in summer productions. He toured with the original production of the Broadway national hit Grease with John Travolta as his roommate.
He began his career as an actor in the late 1960s and as a director in the 1970s. His most notable film roles are Julie Cooper's husband, Max Horvat, in the comedy Once Upon a Time. He played the newsmaker Clete Meisenheimer in the Mary Hartman TV series, Mary Hartman. He also played Captain Cool from Captain Cool and Konga at the Croft Super Show from 1976 to 1978. He is also best known for his role as Vinnie Fazio in the 1978 film C Company.
Lembek has collaborated with actor Peter Boyle in the films Santa Claus 2 and The Santa Claus Contract 3. Lembek also starred Boyle in a number of episodes of the series Everybody Loves Raymond.
