Born October 31, 1941, New York is an American actress, producer and director.
Kirkland learned her acting skills from Lee Strasberg, and often spent her free time with Andy Warhol's party.
In 1962, she began her acting career on the stage of New York, and in 1968 she became the first actress to appear naked in front of the audience on the stage. In the 1970s, Kirkland appeared in a number of popular films, such as Two Hearts Meeting (1973), Scam (1973), A Star Is Born (1976) and Private Benjamin (1980) and Best of the Best. "(1989).
In 1987 she was nominated for an Oscar for her lead role in Anna, and although she did not receive an Academy Award, she still won a Golden Globe. The actress also appeared on television, where she had roles in the series Days of Our Lives, Murder, She Wrote and A Simple Life.
