Born July 28, 1948 - American actress.
She made her debut in 1970 in Five Easy Pieces, which featured several sex scenes between her and Jack Nicholson. She later achieved widespread acclaim for her co-starring role in the hit 1970s sitcom All in the Family. She won two Emmy Awards for Best Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series, in 1972 and 1979. She has also received four Golden Globe nominations. In 1972, she had the lead female role in the movie "Escape" .
After completing All in the Family, she starred in the short-lived TV series Gloria (1982-1983). She starred in 9 to 5, a body adaptation of the film of the same name, from 1986 to 1988. In the following years, she mainly worked as a TV presenter and also as a voice actor, voicing the main characters in several lengthy animated series. From 2000 to 2007, she starred in the TV series Gilmore Girls.
