Born 1969, Vancouver, Canada is a Canadian and American writer.
grew up in London, Ontario. Has dual citizenship - Canadian and American.
She studied English Literature at Carleton University in Ottawa. In 1999, she moved to the United States to pursue her career as a technical editor. After being fired in 2001, she decided to devote her full time to writing fiction instead of looking for another job in the software industry. He currently resides in Grayslake, Illinois. She is a supporter of numerous charities that support animals and wildlife.
Gruen's first two novels "Riding Lessons" and "Flying Changes" enjoyed moderate, if significant, success. Her third novel, Water for Elephants, rose to prominence and in 2004 ranked as one of the New York Times hardcover bestseller fiction books for 12 weeks, selling 248,000 copies of the novel. ...
