Born October 18, 1954, Flushing, Queens, New York, USA - American producer, screenwriter and director.
His parents were Jewish practitioners. After graduating from college, Bob and his brother Harvey organized rock concerts. In the late 1970s, the Weinstein brothers founded a small film company called Miramax, which they named after their parents, Miriam and Max, with the help of the concert organization. Miramax was originally conceived as an independent non-commercial film production company.
In 1993, The Walt Disney Company asked Harvey and Bob to buy Miramax for $ 60 million. The brothers agreed on the condition that they remain at the head of the company. On March 29, 2005, Bob, along with his brother, left Miramax and founded his own production company, The Weinstein Company.
