Born May 23, 1980 is an American actor.

Studied law at Northeastern University in Boston, but after a summer internship realized that he didn't like working with lawyers. In his sophomore year during spring break, he went to visit a friend in Los Angeles and never returned to college.

After several guest episodic roles, Cotrona was considered for the role of Ryan Atwood on the television series Lonely Hearts, but the role went to Benjamin Mackenzie. Shortly thereafter, Cotrona landed the lead male role in another FOX drama, Skin, produced by Jerry Bruckheimer. Cotrona played Adam Rome, the son of the Los Angeles County Attorney. His character is fond of Jewel Goldman (Olivia Wilde), whose father works for a pornographic company. The enmity of their fathers, hanging over them, leads them to the relationship between Romeo and Juliet. Skin was closed after three episodes aired due to poor ratings and controversial storylines. Eight episodes of the television series were broadcast on the cable television channel SOAPnet in 2005.

In 2005, Cotrona appeared in the horror film Swamp, directed by Jim Gillespie. Also in 2006 he starred in the film "Love is a drug".

In 2005, Cotrona returned to the lead role in the NBC television series Sudden Fortune, where he played flower shop worker Sean Mathis with a dark past who is one of the lottery winners. The series premiered in the summer of 2006.

Cotrona was cast as Superman in a planned Warner Bros. "Justice League: Mortals", but due to the US Writers Guild Strike and a number of other problems, production of the film was stopped.

In 2010, Cotrona appeared in the film Dear John. In February, he landed the role of Detective John Stone in the ABC pilot for Detroit 187, which also stars Michael Imperioli, Sean Majumder and Erin Cummings. When ABC ordered the series, it was renamed Detroit 1-8-7. His character was killed in the sixteenth episode of "Stone Cold". In the movie "GI Joe: Toss the Cobra 2" Cotrona played Flint - one of the main roles.
