Born August 23, 1979, Philadelphia, PA is an American neo soul and jazz singer.
In 2001 his debut album 1st Born Second was released, representing both collaborative tracks with members of the Soulquarians and compositions with well-known personalities such as Dr. Dre. The album was well received by critics, however it never made it to the mainstream heights (although the single "Soul Sista" was quite popular on the underground radio at night). Despite this, Bilal has managed to gain attention and recognition in his live performances, thanks to his range, ability to sing in freeform style, and in classical falsetto.
In the following years, Bilal collaborated extensively with other performers and producers such as Dr. Dre and J Dilla, which was later to be released on Interscope Records. The Love For Sale album's release date was delayed due to the label's perceived lack of commercial success. As a result, the album was leaked to the Internet, where many fans and music critics expressed their sympathy for the artist about this. And although Bilal constantly goes on various tours, the situation with the album is still not clear.
