In 1934, after graduating from the Higher National Conservatory of Dramatic Art, she joined the Comedie Francaise troupe. In the same year she married actor Lucien Pascal, from whom she gave birth to four children, two of whom (Jean-Claude Casadesus and Domenic Probst) followed in the footsteps of his grandfather and became musicians. The actress received public recognition and praise from critics for her numerous roles in the Comedie Francaise, where she is currently an honorary member of the troupe.
