She began her career as a ballerina and eventually studied drama at the theater school in Montreal. She later participated in the theatrical production of David Mamet's "Oleanna" in London, Ontario. Sandra Oh's brother, Ray, is completing graduate studies at the University of Toronto and the Cancer Control Institute in Ontario with a degree in medical genetics.
