Born January 5, 1969, Canton, Ohio, USA is an American rock singer, actor, composer, director, producer and former music journalist.

In his autobiography, The Long Hard Road Out of Hell, he described his grandfather's sexual fetishes that greatly influenced his worldview.

As a child, he attended the Episcopal Church with his mother, although his father was a Catholic. Brian attended Heritage Christian School High School from first to tenth grade. He later transferred to Cardinal Gibbons High School in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, graduating in 1987.

Is a distant relative (double distant fourth cousin) of Patrick Buchanan.

After graduating from high school in Florida, Brian found himself a job at a local music magazine. There he acted as a reporter and music critic, writing poetry in his spare time. In 1989, Brian created his own rock band with guitarist Scott Puteski. He decided to take a new name for himself: Marilyn Manson (Marilyn Manson), consisting of fragments of the names of two completely different people: the movie star Marilyn Monroe and maniac killer Charles Manson. In the future, other members of the group followed the example of the leader, choosing pseudonyms for themselves according to a similar template (Scott Putesky turned into Daisy Berkowitz, Brian Tyutyunnik - into Olivia Newton-Bundy, Peri Pandrea - into Za Speck, etc.).

The original name of the band is Marilyn Manson and The Spooky Kids: Manson sang and Berkowitz acted as the main guitarist and drum machine programmer. The earliest known line-up of the group included: Marilyn Manson (vocals), Daisy Berkowitz (guitarist and drum machine operator), Olivia Newton-Bundy (bass), Zsa Zsa Speck (keyboards ). Newton-Bundy and Speck soon left, and bassist Gidget Gein (died October 9, 2008 at the age of 39 from a heroin overdose) and keyboardist Madonna Wayne Gacy joined the ranks.

The band first opened for Nine Inch Nails. Trent Reznor liked the young band and became a friend and informal mentor to the members. A sophisticated advertising campaign immediately brought the band's leader and vocalist to the fore, leaving everyone else in the shadows. The logo of the group he created consisted of the inscription "MARILYN MANSON", made in the style of horror movies ("dripping" font), above the inscription was the gentle gaze of Marilyn Monroe, and below - the mad gaze of Charles Manson. A series of souvenirs with this image was issued almost immediately; in addition, Manson's extensive connections in journalism helped to promote the group.

The band's concert performances were characterized by the widespread use of various attractions; everything that could enhance the impression was used: sandwiches with peanut butter thrown from the stage, girls crucified or imprisoned in cages, bald goat heads, nudity and the use of open flames. Gesi (keyboards) had a small booth, signed "Pogo's Playhouse", which housed his synthesizers. Berkowitz could play in a skirt, bra and long blond wig, his guitar hung very low and a cigarette stuck out of his mouth, complementing the image of the "bad guy". All this was used to obtain maximum effect.

Manson made his acting debut in David Lynch's 1997 film Lost Highway. In 1998, Manson starred in Murder Queens, which also starred his girlfriend Rose McGowan. In 2003, he starred as Christina in Club Mania. In 2004, Manson appeared in the Asian Argento film Chicks. In 2007, Manson played the role of the bartender in the movie Vampire. Manson also appeared in Michael Moore's documentary Bowling for Columbine, where he was interviewed.

Manson worked on his own project in big cinema. He directed Phantasmagoria: The Visions of Lewis Carroll, in which he was to play the role of Lewis Carroll, author of the book Alice in Wonderland. The film's budget was $ 4.2 million. In 2007, the project was suspended indefinitely. In 2011, the premiere of the movie "Splatter Sisters" was expected, in which Manson will star with his ex-girlfriend Evan Rachel Wood.

October 6, 2010 on the American channel The Biography Channel premiered a biopic about Manson and his group, in which his family and friends took part. The film was attended by: Ozzy Osbourne, Sharon Osbourne, Alice Cooper, Jonathan Davis, Joey Jordison, Twiggy Ramirez, Evan Rachel Wood, Keith Flint and others.

In 2012, Manson starred in the French director Quentin Dupieux's Wrong Cops (Wrong Cops).

In 2013, Marilyn played a cameo role in his favorite TV series Californication. The renowned musician appeared in two episodes of the sixth season.

In 2014, Marilyn starred in several episodes of Season 7 of Sons of Anarchy, where he played a neo-Nazi named Ron Tully.

He is a fan of California Californication (starred in season 6 as himself), Lost and Eastbound & Down. In addition, Manson painted a portrait of John Locke.

In 2016, he starred in the third season of the TV series Salem as the sociopathic barber Thomas Dinley.
