JJ72 formed in Dublin in 1997 with vocalist Mark Greeney, drummer Fergal Matthews and bassist Hilary Woods. The group released several singles, but the real popularity came to the team with the release of their debut album "JJ72" in 2000, which caused favorable press reviews and sold 500 thousand copies in the UK alone. After the release of the second album "I To Sky", Hilary Woods left the group and was replaced by Sarah Fox. With her, the musicians prepared material for their third album, which they never had time to release. Mark Greene, Fergal Matthews and Sarah Fox decided to go their separate ways in life, citing "objective circumstances" as reasons for the band's collapse - in particular, problems with their label. In parting, the musicians posted a touching dedication to their fans on the band's website.
