The Band of Horses - formerly known as Horses - is an American music group performing in the genres of indie rock, alt-country and southern rock. By the beginning of 2015, the band's discography included one live and four full-length studio albums, thirteen singles and one EP. Watch online Band of Horses videos on our website. Current line-up: Singing guitarists Ben Bridwell and Tyler Ramsey, keyboardist Ryan Monroe, bassist Bill Reynolds and drummer Creighton Barrett.
The group was founded by Ben Bridwell in Seattle in 2004. The reason for Ben was the disbandment of his previous team. In the same year, the newly-made team began performing in their hometown. Soon, at one of the concerts, the Sub Pop label became interested in musicians. After signing the contract, the guys started studio work. So, in 2005 their debut mini-album Tour EP was released. The first Band of Horses records were sold exclusively at concerts and on the label's website.
Immediately after the release of the EP, the musicians began working on a full-length album. Already in 2006 the disc was ready. It was named Everything All the Time. In general, the recording has earned positive reviews from the press. The tracks included in its composition have been used in video games and commercials.
The Band of Horses was gaining popularity. In 2006, the band members were invited to the TV show David Letterman, on the air of which they played one of their new singles. Band of Horses' second full-length album, Cease to Begin, was released in 2007. The release was very successful. The Rolling Stones included the disc in the 50 best albums of the year.
In 2010, Band of Horses members became the authors of another studio work - Infinite Arms. The album was promoted by the musicians themselves with the support of producer Phil Eck. And again, the work of the collective was to the taste of specialized media and ordinary music lovers.
